January 23, 2016 Episode #2: Goodbye Marussia

Episode #2: Goodbye Marussia

Consider this, the first official episode of The Harrison101 Motorsport Podcast. Huzzah! In this episode, me and Ryan King break down the collapses of Caterham and Marussia, take another look at silly season with Alonso’s impending McLaren/Honda arrival, and whether it should be Button or K-Mag on the way out, as well as Sauber’s impending weird situation with Nasr and Ericcson signed, with Sutil and Esteban still under contract. Also, we talk about Bernie’s recent comments regarding the youth of F1 fans and why upon deeper discussion, he may have a stronger point than you think.

We also review the two GP’s we missed in America and Brazil, and even sprinkle in a little MotoGP in Valencia talk at the end as well. Spoiler alert: We like Jack Miller. A lot. Enjoy everyone!

January 23, 2016 Episode #1: The Fortunate Pilot

Episode #1: The Fortunate Pilot

It was a long, and dull night on October 20th, 2014. And on the night, the very first episode of The Harrison101 Motorsport Podcast was born!

Okay, now, some things I need to address. First of all, sorry for the distance between when this was ACTUALLY recorded, and the time it’s gone up. As I mentioned, this was recorded nearly 3 weeks ago. Sorry about that. Consider this a tester, have a listen and tell me whether you enjoyed it or not, any feedback, all that stuff. Oh yeah, and remind me to use my Headset mic, rather than my Snowball, as I have this awful habit of sitting away from my Mic, especially when I laugh.

In this pilot episode, we talk about the inaugural Russian Grand Prix in Sochi, and why it really didn’t work, a little bit of MotoGP and the future where that’s concerned, the latest driver rumours of Vettel leaving Red Bull for Ferrari (Still a question mark, even if we’re 99% sure), and if Alonso really is heading to McLaren, who does he replace? I’m joined by friends of the show Ryan King (The Formulae), and Gino Van Broecke (The Crekkan on Twitter), and the plan is for episodes to be between 90 minutes and 2 hours long, and if it all works out, the proper episodes, will be on iTunes in the near future. Thanks for listening and if there’s anything else you wanna pass on, let me know.

PS: We kinda recorded this episode in the middle of the Manchester United vs West Brom football match. That MAY have been a mistake.

Front End Chatter #39

HelloAndWelcomeToEpisode39OfBritain’sFavouriteBikingPodcast! And breathe…

In the first FEC of 2016, Simon and Martin discuss:

– The Dakar Rally, who’s winning, who isn’t, and who’s paying any attention?

– All the new rules for MotoGP, whether we can predict anything before anything has happened, and whether that feller who said he doesn’t want to race again will, in fact, race again.

– What’s going on with WSB’s barely comprehensible new format, and whether it will detract from what otherwise has the potential to be a pretty great year.

– Who in the BSB paddock recently failed a drugs test, who will be making a welcome return to the BSB paddock, and who in the BSB paddock has just made a pretty dramatic career change.

– Plus loads and loads (and loads) of your emails frantically read, mumbled, debated and, in a few cases, answered.

It’s a busy one…

What If Hamilton Had Raced For Red Bull Racing?

Taking cue from Christian Horner’s statements, Mithila and Kunal speculate on ‘what if’ Lewis Hamilton had raced for Red Bull Racing from 2012. Would he still be a triple World Champion? And what about Sebastian Vettel and of course, Mark Webber?

While Horner disclosed that he encouraged Mercedes to sign up Hamilton, we wonder who encouraged Mclaren to partner with Honda. We discuss the influx of new talent in Formula 1 and if people are drunk to be joining Manor F1 Team, and maybe Mclaren too?

In this week’s episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we initiate a ‘Hopeless Happenings’ section where we talk about the return of refuelling, louder engine sounds in 2016 and Force India’s on-off deal with ‘Aston-off Martin’. Not to forget Toto Wolff’s insulting (or flattering?) comments on his wife and former F1 driver Suzie and Kevin Magnussen’s attempt to woo Renault. Tune in! (Season 2016, Episode 3)
