Aleix Espargaro, at his 200th attempt, finally wins a MotoGP race. On an Aprilia. Just when you thought this era of MotoGP couldn’t get anymore ridiculous.
It was great to be back in Argentina after 3 years away, and we got a fantastic race long fight between Aleix Espargaro and Jorge Martin, with the veteran coming out on top. We talk about Aleix, his time in the sport, and what it means. Dre even coming out with a controversial statement – The Alien Era is dead. And that’s a good thing!
We talk about the continuing soap opera that is Ducati. Francesco Bagnaia having to fight tooth and nail for 5th, Jack Miller failing to pass a rider on track in 14th, and once again, the privateer runners taking the headlines. What on earth is going on?!
We also catch up with Marc Marquez and some of talk regarding his Austin comeback, whether he should change his riding style, and are we right to be concerned over his long-term future regarding his double vision? Dre and Cam teamed up for a captivating chat on it.
All that and more on a pleasant MotoGP return to Argentina.

Well… that was a smooth weekend.
The boys are back to talk Saudi Arabia for Round 2 of the F1 2022 Championship and the most newsworthy part of the weekend, landed on Friday night. A suicide drone hitting a local oil refinery raised a lot of concern over safety, including a 4 hour long driver meeting with the teams, the boss, and the track promoters. We discuss it all in the middle of the show.
Oh, and we had a race too! And it was actually pretty good! Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc had another superb fight for the win, and this time it was Max that came out on top. We talk that, some of the DRS chess tactics used, and what this means for the title fight.
We also talk on the nasty incident in Qualifying where Mick Schumacher spun out at a chicane in a 32G crash. More questions asked about the safety of a 155mph average speed street circuit. Funny that.
And finally, more on Mercedes struggles. George Russell with a very lonely 5th, but Lewis Hamilton knocked out in Q1 on merit for the first time in nearly 13 years. How did we get to this point, and is there any saving them?
All that and more on a loaded Motorsport101.

The Rain Shaman, accidentally saving the Indonesian Grand Prix. None of this sentence was made up, honestly!
For the first time since 1997, MotoGP returned to Indonesia, and it got wet! Stupid wet! Wet enough that the whole thing was put off for an hour!
And amazingly, this was kind of the best option! Dre and Cam go hard on the preparation of the Mandalika Bay circuit after the dry running led to tyre carcasses that were 4 years old, Honda crying conspiracy and Marc Marquez suffering a highside so massive, it concussed him out of the GP and caused a relapse of the double vision he suffered at the end of last year! We break it all down here!
And did we mention that Miguel Oliviera shocked everyone and won?! He was outstanding taking advantage of a bold first lap enroute to a dominant win ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco. Even more startling, Darryn Binder coming from the back to finish 10th, so we actually gave the man his flowers. It’s only fair, really!
All of that and more on MotoGP’s return to Indonesia, on Motorsport101!
